Invisible Crown; Sister to Sister
To my sisters in Kongo,
If you are reading this, I am glad you are still surviving, and I just want to let you know that you are not a shame, regardless of your struggles. I call you "Shujaa" meaning strong, for your resilience has inspired me to appreciate life more.
I am sending you a tight hug from far. I know you can't physically share your pain with anyone else and I know I can not walk in your shoes. But even if the enemy has negatively changed your life and our nation by taking advantage of your precious body. I just want to remind you that in the midst of darkness, you are still beautiful as you’re wonderfully made in His image.
You deserve peace and healthy relationships that overflow with positive energy around you 24/7. I pray that the Creator gives strength to your broken heart so that you can keep loving yourself even if your leaders can't protect you. I also want to remind you that you are boundless, precious, a masterpiece and above all a queen. When you look in the mirror through your beautiful eyes see hope that surpass your scars. With your strong hands, when you wrap and touch your hair, feel your invisible crown embracing you. Your arms and legs will do things that you prayed for and lead you to places you never imagined. Your lips could speak life, lead with your stories that might uplift others.
You are not alone in life's battles. I wish you were surrounded by more heroic people like Honorine Munyole, Dr. Denis Mukwege or Gloria Sengha. Maybe all of this wouldn't happen if the visions of the greatest son of the soil Patrice Lumumba was still in our hearts.
Someone once said '' Where there is darkness there is light, and you need to shine your light on the darkness." I believe you are the light in the darkness, waiting to shine!
Your congolese sister from distance but close to your heart.
